Sending you hugs š«
April Perry says
Thank you! And right back at you, Hema! š
Cecelia says
Dear April – Brava!! I love that you are showing us the way… reviewing and simplifying by looking at thoughts, emotions, time gobbling practices…. whatever is holding us down. Thank you! Sending a hug back to you!
April Perry says
I am so grateful you are here, Cecelia! There is so much strength in community, and I feel humbled to be a part of this one. xoxo
Stacie Hiett says
Beautiful message!! Thank you for sharing your heart. I really appreciate the “realness”. I’m sorry some people are mean.
God Bless you.
April Perry says
Thank you, Stacie! I appreciate your support, and I am cheering you on!!
Ruth Cunningham says
I am so grateful for this. I would love a friend like you. I think I would assume I wasn’t your type! I have been so busy these last few months, a lovely friend gifted me this course and I don’t have the time to tell you just how much this course is helping me absolutely every day since I started it. I haven’t got time to go into detail right now as I’m making dinner. I would love to chat to you sometime because I think you would be encouraged to know just how much this has given me peace of mind. Once my life has quietened down (I have had my house buzzing with students or our older children). I will jot down in more detail in what ways I have found this helpful I would love you to know what a difference you are making. Funnily enough I think of myself as naturally a bit cynical so I’m surprised you have had negative comments. Blessings
April Perry says
Ruth, this really touched my heart. Keep up the great work! I can tell you are a huge support to the people in your life, and I am so, so grateful that our work here is supporting YOU in that! I’d love to hear more when you get a moment, but no rush! Enjoy your time, and thank you for all the good you put out into the world!
Melissa Gahr says
Hi April,
I have been doing STEP for quite awhile now and I am so grateful I found you. Your talks always resonate with me, even today when you spoke about some of your more discouraging feedback. It made be think of one of my favorite pieces of T. Roosevelt, āMan in the Arenaā.
ā It is not the critic who counts; not the (wo)man who points out how the strong (wo)man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the (wo)man who is actually in the arena.ā
Like you, I also really put myself out there in my work, creating vulnerability. Whenever someone brings me down, I read the entire āMan in the Arenaā passage. It brings me right back up again. Try it.
Thanks for staying in the arena. I will stay right there with you.
My best,
Melissa
Kari says
Thank you for posting this, Melissa. I came to the comments to say something similar (LDB is one of my favorite podcasts – because of the relatability), but I wasn’t aware of this quote and I’ve saved it for future arena moments.
Gwendolyn Walker Fleming says
Yes, teach me how to create a command system, organize and create systems.
April Perry says
YES! We’re here to do that, Gwendolyn! I’m not sure if you’ve taken our free training yet, but you can sign up here: https://LearnDoBecome.com/STEP, and we have lots and lots of great resources on the website! You might like our “Party” we did last year. It’s 9 weekly lessons–and you can sign up here: https://LearnDoBecome.com/Party
Have an amazing day!!
Ron Feltman says
Hi April,
I’m a pastor of a church, and I know how it is to put your “stuff” out there and to have people dump all over it. I also don’t know why folks take the energy to criticize others for their good intentions. What I do when I don’t find something valuable in anything I encounter–online or otherwise–is simply move on and find something that does have value for me. I guess some people just need to dump on others to feel good about their lives.
Keep up the good work. Thanks for all you do to encourage me and to help me stay organized.
Ron
April Perry says
Your perspective is so appreciated, Ron! I’m really grateful for this community. We all obviously have room to grow, so I try not to get too sensitive around constructive criticism. But it does definitely help to focus on the voices who are encouraging and supportive (and patient with the humanness we all have…). Keep up the great work and thank you!!
Christine says
Many thanks for all this giving. I am French, living in France, and you inspire me. Hugs, my friend š

You’re doing really well when you get the hater mail April :-), I agree, get it screened there is no need to give them any of your time/energy (or send it to a squad from the FB page and we can respond for you ;-). So glad you are going with your gut and demonstrating how to handle those alignment issues after attending “real business” conferences and being bombarded with the metrics talk. It is indeed a bit much, and I’m glad you’re reminding me to go with what I know and simplify whenever possible. I hope you know – you know your purpose and it’s not meant to serve others ideas of success (but it’s always nice to know what others are doing). Having said all that, as a mom, business owner and teacher, I am always blessed with important reminders when I take the time to tune in or catch up with LDB. Thank you for that and more so, for the friendship.
April Perry says
Oh my goodness, Erinn–your comment totally made me smile. I loved your suggestion to “send it to a squad from the FB page.” You all are amazing. I am grateful for your perspective and for the wonderful work you are doing!! Sending lots of love!
Emily Batista says
Hi, April. Thank you for being so open and honest about your own fears of not being perfect. I know for myself that perfectionism is not something you overcome permanently; it’s like being an alcoholic. You are ALWAYS recovering, never recovered! I struggle with that myself. And I’m working with a professional organizer to help me get to a point where I’m organized enough without being perfect. It’s been a journey, two years already since I moved into my new home (an apartment in a high rise) that I hope and plan to make my forever and final home. I’m still slowly going through all the belongings my late husband and I accumulated over the 68 years of his life and the now 67 years of my life (he died three years ago). It’s a daunting process and yet I’ve found that the STEP program has really helped me feel like it’s manageable and doable and that I will, someday, achieve that state of being to which I have long aspired. Living with a hoarder tended to make me feel helpful and hopeless about ever having the lifestyle that would allow for casual drop in visitors, but even now, without having achieved perfection, I am A) a lot less self conscious about letting people see the progress and B) a lot more sure that I’m doing a decent job of downsizing, decluttering, prioritizing, organizing, and LIVING, which is what it’s all about. I’m grateful for the day I spotted your free course on Facebook and am extremely glad that I signed up for STEP.
Thank you for all you do.
best,
Emily
April Perry says
I am sending lots of love your way, Emily! You have a lot on your plate, and it means so much to know that things are feeling more manageable for you because of STEP. Your success is INCREDIBLE!! Wow–way to go! Thank you, thank you for your kind words and for sharing your story!
Maureen says
Dear April,
What a beautiful message. When role models share what is in their heart, like you have done here, that is true inspiration. Much love to you!
Maureen
April Perry says
That means so much. Thank you, Maureen!! Sending a huge hug!
Kristen Dwinnells says
Thank you for sharing. I know itās hard but donāt let people get you down. Know how many people you are helping each day. I really enjoy your program and podcasts.
April Perry says
I am so glad to know that LearnDoBecome is helpful for you, Kristen! Thank you for being here and for sharing your support. It means so much. Keep up the great work!
Virginie says
Dear April,
I am so grateful for your podcast. Thank you for your honesty, sincerity, vulnerability. You have a beautiful heart ! I love to listen to you, because you are so human, I can recognize myself in you. When I join a program where everything is too perfect, I feel I don’t fit it in and won’t be able to achieve it because I have so many weakness. I really feel like you are a friend. You are inspiring my life since I join the STEP program in 2018. Thank you, be who you are, I love you like you are š !!!!!
April Perry says
Virginie, I am SO GLAD we are friends! I appreciate your kind words, and I am cheering you on! It’s actually really comforting to know that our community doesn’t even WANT perfection. š Thank you, thank you!
virginie says
Me too š !!! You are so welcome. My husband and I are in the middle of an international move with a 5 year old and no support. I wouldn’t even try without the step program. Yesterday I scanned my son medical record and kept only the most important document. I feel so light this morning. I am looking to simplify my life, this is why we are returning to our home country and STEP has been such an inspiration for me. THANK YOU and please keep doing what you are doing it is amazing š¤© !
Rowena says
Thank you for sharing, precious April. Hope you have a peaceful afternoon. Gripers are gonna gripe. Hope you just do not see those posts.
April Perry says
Many thanks, Rowena! I really appreciate your perspective and support. š Keep up the great work!!
Colleen says
Thank you for being you. I know you have my back as I try to become more organized and decluttered. I call that being a true friend. I have a book I really should publish (relating to healing from trauma with God guiding the way), yet I’m terrified to do so because I feel I will be crucified on social media and elsewhere. I feel this is part of my purpose and it would make my heart sing, but fear is holding me back and I have become quite melancholy. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your heart. You are an inspiration!
April Perry says
Colleen, I am excited that you have been thinking about a book!! It is definitely not easy to put yourself out there, but just hearing how you feel about your topic and your purpose, it sounds like there is SO much good that you can do by sharing your experience and wisdom. Cheering you on! xoxo
Stefanie Jordheim says
Hi April,
I have been listening to your podcast for quite a while, and enrolled in STEP mastery since 2018. I have never commented before, but felt compelled to because I wanted to let you know that it is your vulnerability and authenticity that has allowed me to allow myself to admit some of my own areas of growth or put words to why I am struggling in a particular area. I am sorry you have encountered some individuals that felt they needed to be mean. In an age where vulnerability equals connection, I am glad you are willing to connect. I hope you come away from these comments feeling encouraged so that you can live into your purpose of encouraging others.
Stef
Ps…I picture coffee in our friendly conversation š
April Perry says
Stefanie, you are SO SWEET. Thank you for sharing these beautiful words, and thank you for sharing how YOU are growing, as well! This community is amazing, and while I am learning to steel myself from the unkind words, I am also learning to cherish these beautiful online connections. Sending lots and lots of love!!
Catherine Evans says
I am listening to Podcast 119 at 3:30 on July 6, 2021. I resonate with a lot of your talk. Will be back. Thank you Catherine Evans.
Gwen Wilson says
April, I love listening to you… anyone who cares to listen long enough can’t help but realize that you are GENUINE , AUTHENTIC and RELATABLE. It’s clear to see that you truly care about people. As I listen to you share your heart with all the world I feel like you’re sitting beside me taking ONLY to me… I feel like you SEE ME. Thank You… Please don’t stop. I believe that your personal touch and vulnerability is a big part of your success. I wish I could have you over for a real life visit. š
April Perry says
This means so much to know that you feel seen, Gwen! I try to imagine the person Iām speaking to when I podcast, but sometimes I wonder if Iām missing the boat…. Iām so glad to know that LearnDoBecome is helpful for you. Thank you for your kind words!!
Dianna says
Thank you for the influx in your voice as you describe your feelings. Years ago during a really difficult time in my life I just didn’t understand what was so wrong in my life. What was I feeling, thru something you said, I recognize so many years later it was fear. Things have changed to the opposite side of the what was happening then. It took some many steps! You put a name to it. Thank you.

Andrea says
April, listen to your daughter. Have the msgs filtered… not because you’re “an acquired listen,” but because you don’t need to receive other people’s gunk into your heart.
Hurting people hurt people.
Fear
Jealousy
Meanness
Pray for them if you look at the msgs (if you need another project).
Look what you’ve had the courage to create! Think of the people you’ve helped.
Your efforts are blessed and bless others. Receive that… not negativity
April Perry says
Thank you so much, Andrea! I appreciate your perspective and support!
Juventa says
Thanks for sharing your light with the world!!! It makes a difference to so many people. I also appreciate your advice on simplification. Timely and much needed.
April Perry says
You contribute so much to this community. Thank you, Juvenal!!
Jennifer Peterson says
April my friend š ! Thank you for your vulnerability and honesty!!! You are a beautiful spirit. I love what you and Eric offer. It’s really life changing memberships. I appreciate you so much. You have more people who support you and love you unconditionally than the mean ones out there. Please do not let them dull your light!!!! We are here for you. Thank you again!
April Perry says
Your enthusiasm means so much. š Thank you, Jennifer!!
Denise Allen says
Thank you for this podcast! I really needed to hear it yesterday. I have a podcast too and hearing you talk about all the processes that you simplified made me grateful I chose simple to get mine going! I also felt to forgive myself because I am doing the best I can, even though I donāt get them out every month like I planned. I have experienced the āhaterā and had to let that go too. I feel like youāre my friend and was amazed because that is the kind of engagement I truly desire with my podcast. I seldom comment but felt impressed to tell you how much it meant to me. I am also overwhelmed with your audience comments (and responses). I aspire to that! Thank you for being a light!
April Perry says
Denise, it sounds like you are on a great path with your podcast–keeping things simple, giving yourself grace, connecting on a heart level, and trying to serve the very best you can. I’m so glad we are friends!! Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, and keep up the great work! xoxo
Jessica P. says
April, I want you to know that I view you as a close friend though Iāve never met you. Your systems and podcasts have helped me so much. And as a side note, those who send mean comments or RUDE comments are not reflecting you, but their own discontentment with themselves. You are by far my favorite person/podcast to listen to! I love your laugh, your demeanor, your passion, and all the information you have shared to make my own life simpler and lighter. If I could hug you, I totally would. You are one of my heroes. ā¤ļø
April Perry says
Jessica, this sweet comment means so much to me! Virtual hug received! Keep up the great work!
Kim Monson says
Thank you! Thatās exactly the encouragement I needed to hear. April, youāre a great C E O š
April Perry says
Thank you, Kim!! I think Iām going to make that my official new title in my email signature. š I appreciate you being here with us at LearnDoBecome!!
Jennifer says
Thank you for sharing about your simplification process. I have been stuck in my business and not moving forward. I can relate to the problem of 80 steps to complete a single task. I didn’t realize it but this is exactly what has been keeping me stuck. Scheduling my own simplification meeting now. Thank you for your insight!
April Perry says
Jennifer, your comment inspired our newsletter for this coming week! š We made a little worksheet so people can do their own āProject Simplification.ā I added the links in the post above, as well, if you want to check them out. Thereās a fillable one or a printable one with related links. And Iād love to hear what you end up simplifying and how it works for you, if you donāt mind sharing later! Thank you!!
Lenae says
Definitely can relate to the fear! My teaching studio was so out of control, I didn’t even know where to start! It kind of paralyzed me during the pandemic when I could have gotten a lot done. Couldn’t even think of a “First Step” or “Next Step.” Finally I just decided I’d take almost everything out of there and put it up in my daughters’ unoccupied bedrooms so I could do a thorough cleaning in there and re-evaluate the shelving/use of space. A big job that took me several days, but got enough done to be able to resume in-person teaching again, which was huge for me. I’ll gradually bring things back down after I go through them and as I need them. Still MUCH to be done, but at least now instead of dreading going in there and feeling overwhelmed, it feels lighter and happier. Hope I can do “next steps” one at a time and reach my goal of getting my studio better organized and more efficient (and get rid of a lot of stuff in the process!) Thanks for sharing your fear, and thanks for helping me get started.
April Perry says
Lenae, it sounds like you have made huge progress! And I love your goal. It is definitely a process, but the little bite-sized steps make a difference. Sending lots of happy thoughts your way!
Felicia says
Thank you so much for this and for being genuine and raw! I appreciate that, and I appreciate you. I have thought many many times while listening to you that I want to be your friend. You make me giggle, you make me laugh, and you make me think. I want to just give you a hug! There are just plain old mean people out there and there are people struggling with their own hurts. Hurt people hurt others. It is not fair or right. I admire you for opening yourself up to all of us and opening yourself up to potential negativity while pursuing your quest to help others. I know without a doubt in my heart you truly want to help others be organized and have a reduced mental load. I am still working my way through your STEP program. Due to various life circumstances I have started and stopped, but I know that I will conquer this, and you are my cheerleader from behind the screen. Keep on keeping on. You are doing good work! God Bless You!
April Perry says
Felicia, thank you!! I am so glad to be your cheerleader behind the screen. š I am so proud of you and so grateful for your support. Keep going with STEPāonce you have it fully in place, everything else will feel so much easier. Have a great week!!
Renee Dillman-Kuehl says
April, I have had the opportunity to listen to your Podcasts, and to hear you an Eric in trainings. I have always wondered if your laughter wasn’t because you were nervous/scared, and I must admit depending on my day I have laughed with you, I have found it frustrating, and I have been able to relate to you. Today I appreciated your honesty, and your willing to speak closer to your heart than I think I have heard you speak before. You were real, gave into some of your own fears, and it was so appreciated. I do think of you as a friend, and I hope my comments don’t hurt but help you realize you are enough, you don’t have to try and be perfect, but you are you. Look forward to seeing more of this April!!!
April Perry says
Thank you, Renee! I am so grateful to know we are friends, and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. xoxo
Emily Jolley says
Thank you for being my friend April. I need your encouragement. A friend I can listen to when everyone else is asleep and I need that girl chat time. So thank you so much for being there for me. I appreciate having another sister I can listen to when others aren’t available.
April Perry says
Oh, this touched my heart!! Thank you, thank you, Emily!!
April Perry says
And one other thing this made me think of… My mom was in a class at church one time, and the teacher asked what quality they most valued in a friend. My mom raised her hand and said that a good friend was āavailable.ā Iāve felt a little sad over the past several years because Iām not physically available for as many people as I would like to be. Balancing a family, my health, our business, etc. takes a lot of time, and Iām not great about answering phone calls or texts right away. But your sweet comment helped me to realize that in the midst of this busy season of life, these little podcasts are a way for me to be āavailable.ā Thank you for your kind words and helping me to make that connection.
Rachel says
Part way into this podcast and I honestly have no time for the amount of information the “experts” want you to keep pumping out for getting people’s attention. It’s actually a turn-off for me. Give me quality info that I can actually make use of and give it to me less often. If your “product” is a quality product, people will want to be involved, period. Have confidence in the quality of what you are doing.
Clamoring for our attention just adds to the noise of our already chaotic lives.
April Perry says
Such great points. Thank you, Rachel!!
Christine Chiusano says
Hi April, team and community. This podcast was so timely. All your thoughts have been on my.mind as well and I to, have simplified. I to wish you were my real life freind! Do you have anything in process regarding subgroups down to localities? It would be so nice to meet up with fellow learn do become people. I get it regarding your heart and sharing. Brenn Brown has really helped me with being authentic and taking that risks. I love you sharing and you being real and authentic has helped me so much to be that a little more each day. If you can, please keep.going and sharing. I feel so happy knowing people like you exist in the world! You guys have helped mebe a better person in all areas of my life and I need you there for the rest of it.
April Perry says
This was so touching!! Thank you, Christine! And I love your idea of people meeting up in subgroups. š I think we have a Google Sheet in the STEP group where people share where they live, if theyāre interested in gathering together. Taryn would know, if you want to tag her in the Facebook group! Thanks again for your encouragement and support!
Joan Mills says
I love that you are open and share the professional information…..while sharing the deeply personal way you reach each goal. I enjoy the banter that happens between you and your husband as you share the way each of you use the “system”. I am able to work this system BECAUSE you are so personal ….. I am starting, stopping, restarting, fearing, charging forward , and improving one step at a time right now…..it is overwhelming at times and I just quit….but then I listen to you on a podcast and feel like my friend just walked in the door! (No one gets past my entryway uninvited yet, as I am working on the upstairs quilting studio first). So I am sending you Hugs and smiles, and glad you are my friend! Continue to be genuine….that is what makes this website and community different and special!!!
April Perry says
Joan, I am so thrilled for you and your progress, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be your friend. Canāt wait to see pictures of your quilting studio when youāre ready to share! Keep it up!!
caro says
I appreciate your genuine reflection. I’ve heard that most strangers will totally understand me in a few minutes, but it will take me a lifetime to figure out those things. To me, everything you said were things that I understood about you within minutes of signing up for your STEP course. Hugs!
I agree with your daughter. Filter out the mean people. Block them. Have someone else on your team read posts and provide you the kudos and constructive feedback. Their posts are about them; they aren’t for you.
April Perry says
You are so kind. Thank you!!!
Sandra says
“Don’t walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don’t walk behind me, I may not lead. Just walk beside me and be my friend. ”
I don’t remember where this quote is from, but it is what popped into my head as I finished listening to this podcast. I think polished, fake, “perfect” communication is fine if you are selling a physical product. But where you are going to connect with the people you are trying to serve here is in that in that real space where you are walking alongside. It is where real relationship and real growth happens. It is the space you are seeking, and will help so many who need to see that when they stumble, they can get up again, just like you. Thanks for being open, and real, and imperfect! Love your heart!
April Perry says
Sandra, I want to post this quote in my podcast room. So beautiful. Thank you, thank you!!
Sandra says
I would love it if you posted it in your podcast room. I am so glad that what popped into my head was God’s gift for you! I hope it continues to bless you as you reach out to all your friends out here!
Marcy Kendall says
I was so saddened to hear in the beginning of this podcast that people were giving you negative comments! I am constantly in awe of you. The way you have made personal growth and encouraged the rest of us. I have listened to many (most?) of your podcasts and gotten something valuable out of all of them. I have been a STEP member for almost a year and never commented on a podcast. So as Alia said, filter out the negative and remember there are MANY of us positively impacted that aren’t commenting. And we all love you and would be both proud and happy to call you friend- because you have been one to us!
April Perry says
Thank you, Marcy! I am so glad we are friends, and I really appreciate you leaving a comment here! I so often feel like I am just speaking into the air, and it means a lot to know who is on the other side. Keep up the great work!!!
Linda says
Thank you, āfriend.ā What a refreshing podcast! Thank you for being genuine, being vulnerable & sharing your beautiful heart with us. You truly have a lovely heart & soul & a desire to help others. I cannot imagine anyone sending mean messages to you. No one has it all together. I so appreciate you being real & the way you share tips & ideas with us in a calm & encouraging manner. I always feel uplifted after listening to you. Your definition of CEO describes you perfectly! Keep up the great work. You are definitely helping us to become better for ourselves & our families. Love & prayers for you, your family & staff.
April Perry says
I am so glad we are friends, Linda! Thank you for your encouragement. All of us here at LearnDoBecome appreciate the support of this community–more than we can express. Have a wonderful week!!
Pamela says
Thank you sooo much, April! I DO appreciate what you do and your spirit and energy in sharing and teaching us! I feel bad that I have so completely fallen off the ābandwagonā in the STEP program in the last couple years after I felt I had really made a very good start in setting it all up. But I have been traveling between 2 different states for a couple years now, trying to keep up my own home, but also living much of the time in a different state helping to care for my completely dependent mother in her own home. And most recently I have gone back to work part time in my own state (to make my own ends meet!!). I honestly do not know how to keep up with LDB, but Iād really like to be able to create some kind of order even to the life that now seems to be necessary for me. Do you have any suggestions?
Taryn Wood says
Pamela, thank you for your kind words for April. As a team, we’re so grateful for her and for her example!
We’re excited to have you jump back into the STEP Program! You definitely have a lot on your plate right now, and building a basic Command Central will really help you find the order that you’re looking for. You have lifetime access to the program, so getting started is as simple as logging into your account. There is a welcome video there from April, and the Getting Started section contains a video that will help you build a very basic Command Central that can help to support you as you navigate this season of your life. If you’re part of the Mastery program, be sure to reach out to the Facebook group as well. They’ll have some great ideas and support for you.
We’re thrilled to have you with us and we look forward to hearing your success stories!
April Perry says
Pamela, you have definitely had a lot on your plate! And going back to work, caring for an aging parent, and traveling between two states is definitely a huge responsibility. I’m not sure if you’re already in the STEP program, but if you are, then going through the program–even 10 minutes a day–would be a great start! Or if you aren’t in STEP, our free Facebook group has a 7-Day “Organize-Your-Mind” challenge that can be done at your own pace. We’re here to help you however it works best! Even if you just get our emails and check into the site occasionally. Whatever can fit in with your full schedule and help you feel more mental clarity. Thank you so much for your kind comment and for being here with us at LearnDoBecome!
Kaylene says
What a beautiful podcast. You must be my brand of drink because I love your podcast style. I don’t listen to many, in fact rarely do I take time to listen to a podcast, but I have listened to a couple of yours and am shocked that anyone would take the time to slam you. It’s obvious you’re only desire is to help others. Who can find fault with that!
Anyway, I hope to embrace your program and have the success others are having. I want to have the peaceful space you keep talking about, internally and externally.
I’ve tried a couple of other programs that have given me great direction but nothing has resonated with me like your program. I feel like your brain works the way mine does and this program can work for me.
Now I just have to take the time to do it!
April Perry says
I am truly excited for you, Kaylene! And thank you for your kind words! The program is set up in little microbursts, so you can do it 10 minutes at a time. Not sure if you’ve checked out the suggested calendars in the Getting Started section, but those can help you get set up for success. š Keep up the great work, and thanks again for your sweet comment!
Chrissy McCutcheon says
Hi April, I just wanted to say that you were not an “acquired listen” for me. The very first time I heard your soothing voice I was hooked. Any time I am feeling overwhelmed or stressed with life I pick one of your videos or podcasts to listen to. They always put things in perspective and highlight the next step to take to keep moving forward calmly. I love it when something gives you the giggles. Authenticity resonates with me and I am incredibly grateful that you are doing all of this to help your expanding group of friends. Thank you!!!

Dear April- you are such a tender kind hearted soul. I appreciate your being real with us and for sharing your life. You help us all so much to get a handle on the messy parts of life and to sort it all out. Thank you for being brave even when it is hard. Thank you for being a friend.

Dear April and Learn Do Become Team,
Your work is meaningful and powerful. It has changed lives! Like mine š Pause for a moment, and think about thatā¦.
Itās such an honor to be part
of this friendship circle.
I may not have been able
to meet each one of you but itās ok, the changes in my life are so palpable that it feels as if you have always been there!
I no longer wake up to check my phone and realize
a whole hour has passed. I go for a walk or a run with my own thoughts, and ideas and they are pretty amazing I
must say! When Iām having a hard day I listen to you amazing podcasts and they recharge me and remind me of what is important.
I SEE what you are doing and itās just amazing! and April, youāre so right itās so much more than organizingā¦I have written letters to friends and finished projects that have been meaningful to me now and I will continue on my journey which is far from over and I have each and everyone of you to thank!
I ran the 2017 Marathon and I wanted to give my mom a memory box of my medal but I have been too ābusyā – my mom gave up her Athletic Career in El Salvador to give me opportunities here and Iām terrible at sports by the way except running! When I finished the Marathon I put my medal over her head and thank her for everything she gave up her but I never finished this memory box project which meant so much but I did now!!!
Remember, itās not about the comments but about the positive changes that are happening in many of our lives.
Just like there is positive energy there is negative, which is part of the balance of life. Those of us who chose to be part of your movement are getting results and our families and friends are feeling it too. Our lives are changing! Thank you for everything you are doing and for what you have yet to do for us!
With much love
Your friend

I was so very glad to hear this episode. I have been listening to all the podcasts in sequence over the last couple of months and I was hoping that April from a couple years ago would remain the same “friend” by the time I got to the present. I was so excited to hear this episode. Next week I’m off work and hope to tackle a few of my prioritized projects and I know you’ll be there with me in spirit!

I cannot even begin to tell you how much this helped me this morning. I felt like I was drowning and your heart spoke to mine. I have had a 4 1/2 year direct sales business, we opened a family gift shop in October of last year, we have been working on establishing our daughter’s dream businesses within that and have had the mean people comments. Between Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, our website, figuring out connections for our customers, advertising, ordering, inventory, and always needing to be at the shop I felt like I was drowning and losing my joy and purpose. THANK YOU for being real and sharing your heart. You ARE my friend.
April Perry says
You definitely have a full plateāand it is apparent how much you care about others. Self-care and rest are absolute necessities, and I am cheering you on, Christine!
Sara says
Thank you for continuing to put yourself out there April! You make a difference in many, many peopleās lives. I love your podcasts and all the content that you have created. Iāve been with you since Power of Moms and you have changed my life for the better countless times!
April Perry says
Thank you so much for the encouragement! Keep up the great work, Sara!

April, Iām not even finished listening to this podcast and I had to respond. When you speak, I feel like you are speaking whatās in my heart and mind, and to know there is someone out there who understands is so affirming. For all the negative commenters out who feel the need to attack to make themselves feel better, know that you have one person who is always listening and who always gets it! Iām reminded of a quote from Emma Bellās book, The 9 Secrets of Thriving, āthey did the best they could with the thinking they had at the timeā, just think those words for those who would attack and let them go! You are brave and courageous for your honesty and truth. Remember that God chose to tell us about himself through personal stories in the Bible. Your stories matter, who you are matters, and you are prefect just the way you are today, as well as who you will become. You are serving this community by being yourself, and we are learning and growing with you. All the best to you, your family, and the LDB team!
April Perry says
This is so kind. Thank you, thank you for your words of encouragement!

Be ready to step into every opportunity that comes your way. What a great quote April.
Mary Whitaker says
April,
Thank you for throwing yourself out there and being vulnerable. This resonates with me because I lead Bible studies and whenever I take the risk and am vulnerable about my weaknesses, it immediately takes the group to a deeper level. I can tell by the overwhelming comments of support for you that your podcast did just that. People don’t want perfection–they want REAL. I really love your laugh. It is full of JOY and I always feel uplifted and motivated by your podcast.
I found the beginning of the podcast very helpful as well. For some reason, I am wired to complicate even the simplest of tasks. I need to simplify and streamline so it is less burdensome and confusing.
April Perry says
Mary, I am so happy this was helpful to you–and I love hearing that you have been able to make connections in your Bible studies meetings, as well. It is SUCH a gift to work with a community who appreciates “real.” There is a lot of “realness” going on around here. š
Sending lots of love this season!!
