This morning, Alia (our college-aged daughter who works with us here at LearnDoBecome) and I were talking about some of the common problems that our community members have shared with us–that getting organized with a STEP Command Central can totally solve!
(1) Breaking down big projects
(2) Having random tasks floating around in your head or on your calendar
(3) Looking at “nagging objects” around your home or environment
(4) Figuring out how “everything” intersects into one system that you can wrap your head around.
We hope you enjoy our conversation, and if you’re excited to check out the Four Weeks to Finished program we talked about at the end–including our brand new free audio series, the “Play Along at Home” option, and more–please visit this link:

Thank you so much for what you teach and your commitment to sharing it. I signed up for, I think it was the STEP program, like 2 yrs ago and haven’t done it. I want to too bad I just feel like I don’t even have time to set everything up! and yet I know somehow that’s probably just a “Story” in my head but it sure feels like reality. My husband and I own a business, I travel a lot, plus I teach/assist at yoga trainings so it’s like another part time business.. anyway, the point is that I don’t know how to even start this, even to set up the command central. But I want to. and listening to this podcast today, it’s another thing that nags at me, wanting to implement this program in my life, because I KNOW it will help. A lot. Just not even sure how to start after 2 years of putting it off. Ugh. Any suggestions? thanks.
Heather, thank you for your comment. You’re not alone in this! We recently released an Organize Mindset Series that touches on so much of what you’ve described here. Even just the titles will give you an idea of how they might help you, “Feelings of Overwhelm Are Caused By the GOOD in You”, ““Getting Organized” Requires a Change in Our Identity”, and “We Want You to Be Organized So You Can Be a Happy Human”. (You can find each of these here, https://learndobecome.com/starttoday/.)
We know you can do this! Yes, it will take time and effort, but you are capable of great things!
We have just re-sent your login details to you. Be sure to check your spam or filtered folders in case it was delivered there first. 🙂 We encourage you to take the first step of logging into your account to look around. There are a few short videos and audios to help you get started, and you can always reach out to us with any questions that you might have along the way. We’re cheering for you!!
Ugh….girl….ME TOO!! I get held up with ACTION. I have felt like it has to be ALL or nothing. NEXT ACTION! I guess I need to break it down! It has become even more OVERWELMING.
“We can do hard things!!”
She believed she could SO SHE DID!
SINCERELY,
Sheila Compton
Sheila, yes! Breaking it down into small next actions is really helpful! If you end up with extra time, then you can continue working but knowing the very next thing to do helps so much!
I wish I could find the time to at least make a list.
Cindy, thanks for your comment. Life can feel busy sometimes! Many smartphones have a feature where you can do voice to text. This might help you get a list started, even on the go! Wishing you all the best!!
What is the name of the organizing app you use
Hi, Jill! April uses Asana. It’s an app and a website!
