Sometimes the effort we put into something doesn’t equal the “success” we get out of it.
One of our STEPpers in our program, Steps to Everyday Productivity, shared that she was doing her best not to get down on herself, but, after spending nearly an hour trying to get things organized, she hadn’t made the progress she’d hoped. (We all know how that feels, right?)
But she acknowledged that she did set the time to work on it, she was still committed, and she knew that she would be able to make progress in the future. We loved her reminder that “the mind is the battlefield!”

Hi Roberta! I am not sure which Android apps to auto-transcription for podcasts, but I copied the Apple one and put it into an Evernote link. Does this work when you click over? https://www.evernote.com/shard/s14/sh/0ff7cdad-dab8-925c-1f30-f3f3178e0c8a/xupVRzTlmF1hmvmRv7A8oaHznNk5I_ADch96s719ZcB8sLJxTQb3BDLr5A

Hi,
what would you advise with starting professional projects and we feel it’s not going to plan, going too slowly. If there are obstacles to me working productively, inside of my head (discouragement) but also from outside. . Like your boss thinks you are not making progress and is tempted to ‘give up’ by saying.. ‘i don’t know if this is working’. It’s like a double whammy of mind battlefield..
Thanks
Camille

That’s definitely a tricky situation. From my personal experience, communication and having a good system to follow are two keys. If you know exactly what is expected in order for the project to be “complete,” and if you can outline the steps you are planning to take–in order–and verify that everything looks good to your boss, then it’s simply a matter of completing the steps. If you’re feeling discouraged during a project, perhaps it is because the steps aren’t clear enough or small enough? I’m not sure if you’ve built your full Command Central yet, but having that in place has been a game changer for so many people. You’ll be able to get your work done more quickly, and you’ll be able to better manage the expectations and communication with those who work with you.
