Have you ever made a decision that kind of backfired? Or are you currently sorting through piles of stuff you wish you’d never accumulated to begin with? (We have, too!)
Eric recently read a great essay by Benjamin Franklin called “The Whistle,” which references a story from Franklin’s boyhood when he purchased a whistle, but at several times its worth. The essay goes on to share a variety of circumstances where people made decisions that ended up costing them too much money, time, energy, etc.
In today’s podcast, we’re sharing how this story and the question, “Am I paying too much for this whistle?” has helped us with decisions around the physical items we keep in our home, how complicated (or not) we allow our professional work to get, and even how we spend our free time.
Here at LearnDoBecome, whether you’re getting organized with our STEP program or ARISE-ing with us in the ARISE community, you’ll find that wise, long-term decision making is a core skill we’re all working to master.
Our hope is that you’ll enjoy this episode and share some of your own experiences and ideas sparked by this conversation.
