We have a treat for you today! It’s an interview with Jüli, one of our incredible members of STEP (Steps to Everyday Productivity), and if you’re going through some stress right now or living in piles of clutter or wondering if live will ever feel “doable,” then please listen. You’ll love Jüli’s energy and inspiring thoughts. 🙂
You can listen by clicking the play button at the top of this page, or we’ve written out some highlights below.
Here are a few ideas/topics we covered:
If you’ve ever felt like you are “starting over” in life, supporting family members who are going through hardships, and trying to find your purpose at the same time, Jüli gets it–and she can walk you through the process that helped her create a powerful transformation. Her husband, a firefighter, experienced a cardiac arrest–right after their home was demolished in a storm–and their lives pretty much got turned upside down in a very short period of time. (I couldn’t believe how calmly she spoke about all of this….)
In spite of all these challenges, she created a transformation in her life and described it in our STEP Mastery Facebook group, as follows:
“I have an awesome STEP moment to share… I’m a mentor mom for a group of young moms at our local church. Last night I was able to make up a batch of taco soup and host a little moms night out for them in my home! Because of what I’ve learned through this step program… my house was already cleaned and picked up! So much so, that I left my house and went for a walk with a friend, went grocery shopping, and was perfectly relaxed when they all arrived because I wasn’t stuck doing damage control all day! I was able to have a wonderful visit relaxed and happy, 🙂 They wanted to tour through the house and I was able to give it to them without freaking out! And then, this morning I went over to my folks house to visit and have coffee. While I was away, our oldest son called to say he would be stopping by to borrow something… He and his friend were in the house when I got there, and again…I was completely relaxed 😎 no need to feel embarrassed or try to run around picking up. The STEP program has literally made my quality of life so much better! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
We LOVED the energy and enthusiasm in her post, and in this podcast, we went deeper into the concept of finding our purpose, serving others, and changing our mindsets.
For example, Jüli used to feel guilt and shame when she felt overwhelmed, but as she made this transformation, she started implementing the “microburst” action steps. She even applied our simple Clean-a-Drawer Challenge (linked at the bottom of this post) to multiple areas of her home, which helped her stay focused and motivated.
And she customized her Routines List based on what she actually needed and what was actually doable.
Another awesome takeaway? Jüli learned that motivation comes after starting (not before), and the motivation builds as adjustments are made with our processes.
When asked how she would recommend YOU get started, she recommended the Clean-a-Drawer Challenge and the Three-Box Method–both linked below!
We hope that you love the hope and enthusiasm Jüli shared with us in this interview, and whether you’re an official member of our STEP community or not, you can absolutely do this!
