Welcome to Lesson #4 of our Step-by-Step Home Organizing Party! If you’ve been following along, you will LOVE this lesson, because this is where we’re going to tie it all together! Below is a brief outline of this week’s podcast, and if you want to officially sign up for the party–and receive all the bonuses associated with the nine lessons–please go to https://LearnDoBecome.com/party. Those who sign up will receive the worksheets and updated links by email. Thanks!!
One of the most common phrases we hear from our community is, “I don’t even know where to start with my projects!” Today, we will give some very specific tips on prioritizing projects.
Our amazing LearnDoBecome team member, Jill Adams, and her family have tackled 22 (and counting!) organizing projects in their home–because they were able to break them down into bite-sized pieces. Come watch the video (or listen in by clicking ‘play’ above) to learn more!
Tips for Success
What is your vision for your home, room, or space? Taking a few minutes to brainstorm this vision of what will work best for the whole family will make a huge difference in getting you started!
Next, we encourage you to brainstorm all the places in your home and life that you want to organize. This can be done simply on paper (or sticky notes!), and this can also be done digitally in a program like Asana–whatever your preference!
Here’s what a sticky-note brainstorm could look like:
The Asana video tutorial is inside your Party Home Base (details at the bottom of the post).
Finally, it’s time to prioritize.
Jill prioritized her projects by asking the question: “Which project would be most impactful for my kids?” Their first project was to go through and organize each of their individual rooms. With the additional time the kids would be spending at home, she knew a fresh, clean start would make a big difference.
Ask yourself: What will serve our family in the most impactful and immediate way? Move those projects to the top of your list.
Looking for some inspiration? Here are just a few of the pictures of the Adams family’s wins!

Anne says
So can I use Asana only from my handheld device or do I need a desktop version. I can create and see tasks, but don’t see how to create a project in the iPhone app.
Taryn Wood says
Hi Anne! Asana works well on both the desktop and the iPhone app and it’s totally functional using only the iPhone. To create a project in the app, tap on the Home icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. Once there, you’ll see an orange circle on the bottom right that has an image that looks like a clipboard and a plus sign. Tap there to open a menu to create a project. Hopefully that helps!
