I could start with our upbringing (Eric on a farm, me on a beach), how we met (it involved a llama with heatstroke), and our life since 1998 (four beautiful children, lots of love, lots of struggles), but you likely came to LearnDoBecome to escape the overwhelm and find simple systems that work. So I’ll stick to why our story matters to you. 🙂
Eric and I had high hopes when we got married. Strong work ethics, solid track records, deep desires to build something meaningful — and then “life” set in. Ten moves in six years, baby years featuring morning sickness, colic, and preemies, economic difficulties, extended family challenges, heavy community commitments, and the regular ups and downs of building a marriage and raising a family.
Along the way, however, our faith in God grew, and we figured out solutions to much of the craziness — particularly around getting organized and building a strong financial foundation while keeping God and family central to our lives. Wanting to share those solutions, we started LearnDoBecome in 2016, hoping to create a special place of hope and progress online.
More than a million people have joined us over the years, and we couldn’t be more grateful for this beautiful community!

- “Do” involves building your very own Steps to Everyday Productivity (STEP) System to help you out of the overwhelm by organizing all of your projects, routines, appointments, tasks, papers, files, and everything in your head.
- “Become” is where you’re invited to join our ARISE membership, so you can architect a balanced life (Organization, Relationships, Higher Power, Well-Being, Finances, and Purpose) and “wake up excited and go to bed content.”
