I started this book four years ago–when my post, Your Children Want YOU, at Power of Moms went viral, bringing more than two million people together to celebrate family and stop comparing ourselves to each other.
But the project quickly became one of the most meaningful things I will ever do in my life.
My mother is dying of Alzheimer’s. She has slowly forgotten my name. When I go to visit each week, there’s no hint of recognition in her eyes. The woman whose love and power sustained me my whole life is slipping away, and I can’t do anything about it.
Except I can.
I realized that the best way to lose a mom is to:
(a) BE a good mom–emulate all the wonderful things she did.
(b) Spend as much time with her as possible.
(c) Write down the details of her life and the most beautiful things she taught me–so I can help others.
So I’ve been writing–a little at a time over the course of four years. I set a goal to read this entire book to her before she left this life, and TODAY I get to present it to her–and to you.
I hope you love it. I hope you feel how much she would have loved you.
Thank you for all your support!
